20-year-old Julio Urias, who has never started a playoff game before, gets the start for the Dodgers in Game 4. Urias pitched a couple of scoreless innings against the Nationals in the NLDS, earning the W and setting a record as the youngest pitcher in Major League history to earn a postseason victory. He’s faced the Cubs twice this season and gave up 14 hits and seven runs in 11 innings of work. Not what the Dodgers are hoping for out of their young starter.
The Cubs counter with 37-year-old John Lackey who has pitched in 24 playoff games, posting a respectable 3.22 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. That being said, he got roughed up in his first postseason start this year, giving up seven hits and three earned runs in just four innings of work against the San Francisco Giants. Lackey hasn’t faced the Dodgers yet this season.
